Paul Hsu

Dr. Paul Hsu is the Chairman of Ecotech Global Solutions, an energy management consulting company with offices in New York, Florida, and Shanghai.

Paul was born in Taiwan and came to the U.S. as a first generation immigrant in 1976. MTI, Paul’s first company, was founded in 1984 serving the Department of Defense in avionics and battlefield electronics. Following MTI, Paul founded three more successful companies beginning with Total Parts Plus, Inc., an internet based data content company providing electronic component research services and data management applications to electronics manufacturers; Actigraph, LLC, an electronic medical device manufacturer which develops products that collect biometric data used to assess sleep levels/patterns, in drug research, and cardiac rehabilitation; and HSU Enterprise Group, LLC.

In 2007 Paul was appointed by President Bush as the Associate Administrator of the Office of Government Contracting and Business Development. In 2010 Paul was appointed by President Obama as a member of the National Minority Business Advisory Board. Currently, Paul works at Harvard University Asia Center as a Senior Research Fellow on Energy Efficiency.

Additionally, Paul has invested time and resources in community building. In 2006 he served as the National Chairman of the International Leadership Foundation, an organization that strives to bring young leaders to Washington, D.C. for summer internships. In 2002, he established the Dr. Paul and Majes-Maggie Hsu Endowed Engineering Scholarship that awards outstanding students in pursuit of a career in engineering.
